Now this is depressing...

My husband and I are watching a show called "Life After People" that talks about what would happen to Earth if all of the people went away all at once -- as in "poof," no more people.

Everything was o.k. until they started talking about what would happen to the animals. They started with the dogs. Waaaaaaah!

The blogosphere is buzzing about that. In 1984, I read "The Stand" by Stephen King, which is a story about most people dying from a man-made form of influenza. The very first thing I thought about was what would happen to the yorkies and chihuahuas (and gerbils, guinea pigs, etc.) if that really happened. Because I have had 24 years to get used to the idea, I guess that's why I don't find it shocking now. It's sad, but we're the ones that bred survival skills out of animals that once had them. Seriously, our hubris will be our downfall and, unfortunately, our animals' as well.

I'm back from NYC. Jazz is on my lap. I'm not telling her about the documentary. :)

I'm not telling Toby and Fox either. Good move.

Welcome back from NYC. I'm freakishly sore. You?

I have a blister on my little toe that is the size of my little toe. Other than that, I'm pretty good. I'm mostly bummed I was sick all of that time.

Yeah, I know being sick was NO fun. :(

That was a tough documentary to watch. Sarah makes many good observations with which I agree.

Thanks for visiting me.

I wrote a blog a few days ago that somewhat talked about this show. I just hope that if it does happen, someone remembers to open the zoo cages before he/she croaks.
